Help maintain the Murch website, send newsletters and event reminders, manage social media, photograph events, or support room parents as the Room Parent Coordinator.

🎉 Community Engagement
Help plan beloved community events like Coffee on the Playground, Fall Fair, Movie Night, and International Night.

💛 Development
Support fundraising efforts like the annual Support Our School (SOS) Campaign, Murch Auction, and Murch merchandise sales.

🏫 Family Support
Welcome new families, coordinate buddy families, organize childcare for after school events, or give school tours to prospective families.

🍎 Staff Appreciation
Help coordinate lunches, treats, celebrations, and other efforts that show appreciation for our teachers and staff.

Interested in joining a committee or learning more? Email the HSA or stop by the final Coffee on the Playground of the school year on Friday, June 12 at 8:45 AM to meet current volunteers and explore ways to get involved. We’d love to have you on the team!

My name is Stephanie Sexton and our family is new to the Murch community this year. We have 4 sons, two of whom have spent this past school year at Murch. Sammy is finishing 5th grade, and Jason is finishing 3rd. We have spent the last 10 years living outside of the United States and this is our first time living in the DC area. Both of my boys have had a seamless transition into Murch and we are so grateful for the warm welcome from the community.
I have worked in education for 15 years as a learning support specialist and more recently as an educational psychologist. My passion is creating environments where all students can access the curriculum with success and develop a love of learning. I am interested in being a part of the Murch LSAT team to support the continued growth and equitable access for all students in the Murch community.

5th Graders - Come Limbo Your Way Out of Murch!

We hope that the kids are all still sharing fun and adventurous stories from Nature Bridge! What an awesome experience for them all.  Now it is time to turn the focus to the promotion activities and especially the details on the 5th Grade Kids End of year Party/Dance.

This is a parent run activity and it is always a fun night for the kids!

Other information:

  • We will have music,dancing, games, photo taking, activities, and just plain 5th grade fun!
  • This is a party and not really what we would call a customary "dance or prom". So the kids can be dropped off either solo or with groups of friends after dinner.

Attire: Casual party wear. (they can dress in hula skirts, sun dresses, beach print shirts, but no bathing suits!)

  • Donate some money as well so we can cover our costs.
  • In the past, classes have had a DJ, photo booth, games, crafts and even keepsakes.
  • We hope to still be able to do a big chunk of that since it is what makes this night a favorite of the kids.
  • We are asking for $10 per family...if you can donate more...we (and the kids) would be very appreciative!

Calling all Murch parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends, and neighbors!  The Murch Auction is looking for donations for this year’s big event.  This event is our largest fundraiser, and is made possible through donations and support from our entire Murch Family.

Do you have access to a Vacation Getaway such as a beach house, ski lodge, or time share that you’d be willing to donate to this year’s auction?  What about event tickets, unused gift cards, or frequent flyer miles?  

Do you have connections with restaurant or business owners who would be willing to be a sponsor for our event or donate a gift certificate for their services?  

Are you friends with any celebrities or sports players who would be willing to donate a behind the scenes experience?  

Are you a season ticket holder to any sporting or entertainment events that you’d be up to donating for the benefit of the school?

With the New Year upon us the time has come to announce the date for Murch’s largest fundraiser of the year, the Murch Auction!  This year’s event will be a Masquerade Soiree, held on April 14, 2018 (7:30 pm) at the Washington Hebrew Congregation.  Mark your calendar now!
This event is made possible by the help of the Murch Community – that means you!  Through volunteering and donations we are able to raise the funds needed to provide the level of education for your kids that we have grown to expect from Murch. Money raised from the Auction goes towards resources such as new technologies, field trips, scholarships, and reading material.
 
Come join us for our next Volunteer Meeting on January 25, 2018 at 8pm.  It is a great way to meet new Murch faces, help build community, and give back to our amazing school.  Email us for location details. We hope to see you there.
 In addition to helping raise money for your children’s school it’s also a fun night out with food, friends, and drink! What a great way to build our wonderful Murch Community. Information on tickets coming soon.

The Glitz, Glam, Gatsby Murch Auction was a great success! A big thank you to all of the bidders, donors, and volunteers for your support. We hope everyone had a fun night!

There are still openings for a few of the sign-up parties, and some commemorative bricks for sale, as well as a handful of items left to bid on. 

Lastly, if you were unable to make it, you can still make a donation to Paddles Up.
