Two independent providers coordinate with Murch to provide before and after care for Murch students: Wonders Extended Day and Future Stars.
Wonders Extended Day at Murch
Wonders is a non-profit provider of accredited early childhood education, before and after school care, and summer camp. Their licensed, high quality extended day programs provide a fun, nurturing, and enriching environment where elementary children can safely grow through self-guided and supervised play. Wonders’ professional educators plan indoor and outdoor activities based on an age appropriate curriculum that captivates children’s interests and builds on their school day learning.
Location
Wonders Extended Day will take place on the Murch school campus. Second through Fifth grade operate in the school’s cafeteria. Pre-k, Kindergarten, and First grade operate in classrooms on the school’s main level.
Schedule
Before Care: 7:00am – first bell
After Care: dismissal to 6:00pm
Wonders operates full-day programming on most days when school is closed for enrolled students.
Enrollment
Wonders offers flexible enrollment options and provides before care and after care services for PreK through 5th grade students. Tuition rates are available here. Tuition is the same every month regardless of the number of program days in each month. Wonders accepts child care vouchers and subsidies available through state, county, and city financial aid programs. They also participate in FEEA and military employee child care scholarship programs through Child Care Aware. In addition, Wonders offers tuition assistance to eligible families through the Wonders Circle Fund. More information can be found here.
Daily Schedule
Wonders teachers create weekly lesson plans that offer a variety of fun activities each day. A typical day may look like this:
3:30 – 3:45pm snack and free play (blocks, board games, drawing, reading)
3:45 – 4:00pm afternoon round-up (trivia games, question of the day, review of the afternoon’s schedule, etc.)
4:00 – 5:00pm outside free play
5:00 – 5:45pm choices: homework, art activity, active cooperative games
5:45 – 6:00pm Drop Everything And Read (DEAR), homework, board games
If desired, children and their parents can sign a mutually agreed upon Homework Contract that Wonders teachers will use to support a child’s effective use of the homework time offered.
Snack
A healthy snack will be served each day. If there are any food allergies, we will work with your family to identify alternative snacks.

Future Stars
The Future Stars program is designed to support the whole child through creativity, confidence-building, homework support, movement, social-emotional learning, and hands-on enrichment opportunities in a safe, structured, and nurturing environment. Led by highly effective educators and built with children at the center of every experience, Future Stars provides families with the confidence that their children will be engaged, supported, and cared for beyond the school day.
