Murch families—along with other elementary schools in the Deal MS feeder pattern—are invited to a special screening of Screenagers: Elementary School Age Edition at the Avalon Theatre on April 28!
Admission is FREE, thanks to the parent associations at Murch, Hearst, and Lafayette!

We’re excited to share details for the upcoming Murch Plus Spring Session, running for six weeks from April 22 through May 27! This popular after-school enrichment program features a fantastic lineup of classes led by our very own Murch teachers—including drawing, art, Scrabble, dance, basketball, LEGOs, and more.
🗓 Spring Session: Wednesdays, April 22–May 27
🕞 Time: 3:30–4:15 PM
🎒 Who: All Murch students in grades K-5
🎟 Spots: Placement by lottery if demand exceeds capacity
⏰ Registration Deadline: Sunday, April 19 at 5:00 PM
Murch Plus is free for all students, thanks to the generous support of the HSA.

The long-awaited DCPS Spring Break is just around the corner! There will be no school from Monday, April 13 through Friday, April 17.
We hope everyone enjoys a restful and relaxing week, and we look forward to welcoming students back on Monday, April 20!
Kick off spring break with a brand new library book and a sweet treat, courtesy of LAB, our 5th grade library team!
Join us on the big playground next Friday, April 10 from 3:15–3:45 PM where we’ll have a mobile book check-out station. All current Murch students are welcome to stop by and pick out a new read to enjoy over the break.
And don’t miss the bake sale! Proceeds will support the American Library Association and their efforts to fight book bans.
Come grab a book, enjoy a treat, and celebrate the joy of reading!
Next week, April 6–10, is National Assistant Principal Week! Let’s take a moment to show AP Hawkins how much we appreciate everything he does for our school community.
A quick note, a thoughtful card, or a simple “thank you” in person can go a long way—feel free to share your appreciation however you can!

Please save the date for Thursday, April 23! The Murch HSA is excited to celebrate all of our volunteers—especially our amazing room parents—with a special thank-you gathering in appreciation of all you do for our school community.
As we celebrate, we’ll also share ways to stay involved—and perhaps even step into a leadership role within the HSA.
We also warmly welcome any Murch parents who may be interested in getting more involved next year—come learn more and connect with our community!

With spring in the air, Litter Patrol is back in action! Join us on the playground from 8:15–8:30 AM every Monday (or Tuesday if there’s no school on Monday).
Meet by the Little Bear on the Big Playground to grab a bag and lend a hand. Even a few minutes makes a big difference in keeping our campus clean and beautiful!
