The Spring Session of Murch Plus is underway! This session will be held every Wednesday from April 22 through May 27 from 3:30–4:15 PM.

Dismissal Information:
• After-School Programs: Students enrolled in Wonders or CLS will be released directly to their program.
• Parent Pick-Up: Parents will meet students outside the front entrance on Davenport Street and should wait until their child is brought out with their Murch Plus group.

Students will be dismissed from Murch Plus at 4:15 PM to either their after-school program or to parents/guardians.

Teacher Appreciation Week is May 4-8! This is a special time at Murch when we come together to celebrate our incredible teachers and staff. Each day will include thoughtful touches to make their week a little brighter—and we’d love your help!

Here’s how families can get involved:

🥗 LUNCHES (Monday, Wednesday & Friday)
The HSA will provide catered lunches for all Murch staff. We’re looking for three volunteers per day to help with setup or cleanup.
🕥 Meet at 10:50 AM in the Welcome Center to assist with setup, or help tidy up afterward.

🧁 TUESDAY – LET’S BAKE!
Love to bake? We invite families to contribute nut-free breakfast items or treats (bagels, scones, cookies, brownies, cupcakes, etc.) for staff to enjoy.
📍 Drop off in the Welcome Center before morning drop-off (store-bought is great too!)

☕ THURSDAY – FAVORITE COFFEE & SNACKS
Teachers will be treated to their favorite coffee drinks and snacks! Room parents will coordinate with teachers to gather their favorites and organize deliveries.

We also invite classrooms (or individual families!) to “adopt” a specials teacher or support staff member—an especially meaningful way to recognize those who support our students every day.

💌 FRIDAY – THANK YOU CARDS
Students are encouraged to make handmade cards for their teacher(s) to share their appreciation and gratitude. Let’s fill the halls with kind words and creativity!

The DC Department of Transportation (DDOT) is proposing several street safety improvements near Murch and along nearby Connecticut Avenue—including a raised crosswalk at the Davenport entrance.

Families who would like to share feedback can review the proposals and submit comments online:

• Murch Proposal: NOI-26-82-PSD (comments due April 28)
• ANC 3F (Connecticut Ave): NOI #26-85-CPD (comments due May 4)
• ANC 3/4G (Connecticut Ave): NOI #26-86-CPD (comments due May 4)

Community input is encouraged—be sure to share your feedback before the deadline of April 28 on the Murch proposal!

Since early March, the Murch Track & Field Team has been putting in great work during their weekly practices on Tuesdays & Fridays from 3:15-4:30PM.
