Not ready to join the HSA Board, but looking for a way to get involved? Consider joining one of our HSA committees! Whether you have a few hours to spare or want to take on a larger role, we have volunteer opportunities to fit a variety of interests, schedules, and skill sets.
Communications
Help maintain the Murch website, send newsletters and event reminders, manage social media, photograph events, or support room parents as the Room Parent Coordinator.
Community Engagement
Help plan beloved community events like Coffee on the Playground, Fall Fair, Movie Night, and International Night.
Development
Support fundraising efforts like the annual Support Our School (SOS) Campaign, Murch Auction, and Murch merchandise sales.
Family Support
Welcome new families, coordinate buddy families, organize childcare for after school events, or give school tours to prospective families.
Staff Appreciation
Help coordinate lunches, treats, celebrations, and other efforts that show appreciation for our teachers and staff.
Interested in joining a committee or learning more? Email the HSA or stop by the final Coffee on the Playground of the school year on Friday, June 12 at 8:45 AM to meet current volunteers and explore ways to get involved. We’d love to have you on the team!

Murch Plus Spring Session | Dismissal Information
The Spring Session of Murch Plus is underway! This session will be held every Wednesday from April 22 through May 27 from 3:30–4:15 PM.
Dismissal Information:
• After-School Programs: Students enrolled in Wonders or CLS will be released directly to their program.
• Parent Pick-Up: Parents will meet students outside the front entrance on Davenport Street and should wait until their child is brought out with their Murch Plus group.
Students will be dismissed from Murch Plus at 4:15 PM to either their after-school program or to parents/guardians.

As the only LSAT parent representative up for election this year, Stephanie Sexton wishes to introduce herself to the Murch community:
My name is Stephanie Sexton and our family is new to the Murch community this year. We have 4 sons, two of whom have spent this past school year at Murch. Sammy is finishing 5th grade, and Jason is finishing 3rd. We have spent the last 10 years living outside of the United States and this is our first time living in the DC area. Both of my boys have had a seamless transition into Murch and we are so grateful for the warm welcome from the community.
I have worked in education for 15 years as a learning support specialist and more recently as an educational psychologist. My passion is creating environments where all students can access the curriculum with success and develop a love of learning. I am interested in being a part of the Murch LSAT team to support the continued growth and equitable access for all students in the Murch community.
5th Grade Party
5th Graders - Come Limbo Your Way Out of Murch!
We hope that the kids are all still sharing fun and adventurous stories from Nature Bridge! What an awesome experience for them all. Now it is time to turn the focus to the promotion activities and especially the details on the 5th Grade Kids End of year Party/Dance.
This is a parent run activity and it is always a fun night for the kids!
Other information:
- We will have music,dancing, games, photo taking, activities, and just plain 5th grade fun!
- This is a party and not really what we would call a customary "dance or prom". So the kids can be dropped off either solo or with groups of friends after dinner.

Sign Up to Help
Sign up to bring snacks and drinks and other supplies to keep the party goers happy and energized.
Donate Funds
- Donate some money as well so we can cover our costs.
- In the past, classes have had a DJ, photo booth, games, crafts and even keepsakes.
- We hope to still be able to do a big chunk of that since it is what makes this night a favorite of the kids.
- We are asking for $10 per family...if you can donate more...we (and the kids) would be very appreciative!

Murch’s annual auction is fast approaching (April 14th!) — so what can you do to help? Do you, your spouse, or a Murch grandparent, friend or family member work for a company or firm with a sponsorship or philanthropic fund? Donations Needed for this Year’s Auction
Calling all Murch parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends, and neighbors! The Murch Auction is looking for donations for this year’s big event. This event is our largest fundraiser, and is made possible through donations and support from our entire Murch Family.
Do you have access to a Vacation Getaway such as a beach house, ski lodge, or time share that you’d be willing to donate to this year’s auction? What about event tickets, unused gift cards, or frequent flyer miles?
Do you have connections with restaurant or business owners who would be willing to be a sponsor for our event or donate a gift certificate for their services?
Are you friends with any celebrities or sports players who would be willing to donate a behind the scenes experience?
Are you a season ticket holder to any sporting or entertainment events that you’d be up to donating for the benefit of the school?
